VEGAN TERIYAKI TEMPEH! EASY VEGAN COMFORT MEAL

Hey everyone! In this video I will show you how to make an EASY and DELICIOUS meal - Teriyaki Tempeh! You'll just need some basic ingredients. This meal can be made on a low budget and can be a great introduction into Vegan Meals! Whether you're doing a meatless Monday or are interested in going vegan or plant-based, this is an example of just how easy it can be to go meatless and stay delicious!



The recipe is as follows:

1 cup rice
1 and 1/2 cup water
1 block of Tempeh
2 cloves garlic
Vegetable of your choice (I used carrots - can also use frozen veggies)
About 1/2-3/4 cup of Teriyaki Sauce
Salt
Rice Vinegar
Cooking oil (I use avocado or other high smoke-temp oil)



Take 1 cup of rice and rinse it under a mesh strainer. Add rice to medium sauce pan with 1 and 1/2 cups of water, along with salt and rice vinegar for seasoning. Mince two cloves of garlic. Cube your tempeh block. Pre-heat pan with oil of your choice to medium heat. Add garlic to pan, stirring for 1 to 2 minutes to lightly brown the garlic. After, add tempeh and cook the tempeh until there is a light brown color on the outside of the tempeh. Add teriyaki sauce and reduce heat if bubbling, and gradually get the sauce to a simmer so that it can reduce and form a glaze. Add vegetables of your choice - I used carrot. Once the sauce is thickened and reduced, serve over rice. Enjoy!
