When Did We All Become Difficult People? | Monica Wofford | TEDxOcala |
|
How much easier would your life and work be, if when dealing with others, you no longer saw difficulty?
At work, 42% of the time, a boss is dealing with difficult employees. At home, there are relationships, menu trees, and gasp…teenagers! For each recipient of our communication, we’re all someone’s difficult person. But why? Author of Make Difficult People Disappear, Monica Wofford, CSP cites three succinct reasons why we’re all difficult for someone, if not several other people, and how we can change that perception. - How people are not difficult on purpose, but can appear difficult based on our expectations. - Simple techniques to never again take the behavior of others personally. - How to communicate more effectively with people they believe to be difficult. Rapid methods for being seen as difficult by fewer people. Monica Wofford, CSP has spoken on leadership for 25 years, but spent her life uncovering how fears create difficulty. Author of Contagious Leadership and Make Difficult People Disappear, Monica has been on CNN and proclaimed a “favorite speaker” by Meeting Planners. She’s coached or trained thousands of leaders and believes protection from vulnerability results in the projection of difficult behavior. As a result, Monica encourages others, to be real, authentic, and non-difficult. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
