crosh.ca/croshcon2023 The mechanisms of fast and slow stress responses, as well as acute and chronic stress, will be described, and after that, the three pathways which connect the gut to the brain will be explained briefly. In this presentation, we see how dietary patterns and food components affect our mood. Academically, Parastou has received her master’s degree in nutrition science; and she has obtained practical experience working as a diet therapist and community nutrition planner in health centres, as well as being a member of the Sports-Medicine Commission. After spending seven years applying the theoretical methods of nutrition science in the field, three years ago, she started doctoral studies in Human Kinetics with a focus on Occupational Health and Safety under the supervision of Doctor Sandra Dorman in the Center for Research in Occupational Safety and Health. |
