In this video we explore the basics of redirection of an overhand attack into an arm bar. The attacker strikes overhand and the defender enters in and redirects the attacker's force upward and then spirals the attacker's arm causing the attacker's shoulder to drop lower than her hand. By placing his weight on her elbow with an extended arm the defender is able to control the attacker's descent to the mat, finally immobilizing her.
