Stocks trade firm but stay ranged ahead of US CPI print; Pharma & Auto gain while FMCG slumps

Benchmark indices were trading near day's high with Nifty around 17,800.

The Sensex was up 221.58 points or 0.37% at 60,379.30, and the Nifty was up 86.50 points or 0.49% at 17,808.80. About 1962 shares advanced, 1269 shares declined, and 90 shares unchanged.
