Meet Jennifer Crawford, the President of VFW Auxiliary Post 1263, interview on 1263’s poppies making event!
A group of 1263 VFW and Auxiliary members have been meeting this week making poppies, and their target is to make 20,000, yes, 20,000 poppies in 30 days or less. The project lead is VFW Post 1263’s Post Commander Josh Schreck. Josh was called way to work, when these photos were taken, but Jennifer Crawford the Post Auxiliary President allowed us to take photos and videos the event. This is a nationwide effort from VFW Headquarters asking for volunteers to help make poppies. The national poppy making effort was slowed due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, but as you can see 1263 and other post and districts nationwide answered National Headquarters call for help to make poppies. On Thursday 29 October 2020, the day the photos and video were taken, the volunteers made over 4,000 poppies for a total of over 14,000 poppies made to date. Note: As volunteers gathered, we ended up splitting the work effort over three separate tables to ensure we had social distanced for everyone’s safety. |
