Global Health in War and Peace:A Case for Global Health Diplomacy

video thumbnail
CHRISTOPHER PLOWE, MD, MPH
Director, Duke Global Health Institute
Professor of Medicine and Global Health

About the lecture
The severe negative impact of war and conflict on global health is well understood. Using Myanmar as a case example, this Think Global talk will explore the potential to turn this equation around—for global health to have a positive impact on war and conflict. Plowe will make a case that shared health goals can be one thing that adversarial partners can agree on when they can agree on little else, improving prospects for peace and reconciliation.

This event is part of the Duke Global Health Institute's Think Global weekly lecture series.
