The Tuscany theme remains so popular today and this one is especially beautiful! Jerry creates this new material from photographic memory versus reference material. The Blue Door appears to be part of an old European village or a street scene. Not only loaded with wonderful learning techniques such as the old building, close-up steps, stones, stucco, brick, red clay tile roof, arched door, etc., but is a good perspective study given all the angles in the painting. Jerry is using a canvas board this time versus a stretched canvas because the board has a non-stretch surface which allows for creating cleaner edges, stones, etc. Just a preference of his – not a requirement for you. We hope you love The Blue Door as much as Ms. Donna does – she’s already declared, “This one is going home with me!”
