On the video, I have credited the song to Gene Raskin (1909–2004) who supplied English words and made it into a big hit for Mary Hopkin in the 1960s. My Essex Music Inc. edition (1968) fails to mention the piece's origin in a Russian song—"Дорогой длинною"—by Boris Fomin (1900-1948).
