B.C. Premier John Horgan on health-care funding, anti-vaccination protests – September 23, 2021 |
|
British Columbia Premier John Horgan holds a news conference in Chilliwack after chairing a virtual meeting of the Council of the Federation comprised of Canada's premiers. They are calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to meet with them before the next speech from the throne is delivered to discuss their request for an increase in long-term, unconditional health-care funding. Premier Horgan faces questions on topics including whether the B.C. government is considering following Quebec in prohibiting anti-vaccination protests in front of schools, hospitals, and COVID-19 vaccine clinics or testing sites; federal support for the province's proof-of-vaccination system; and a new COVID-19 case notification system for schools.
