The Marvel Cinematic Universe is jam-packed with some of pop culture's most iconic superheroes.

As a result, we've seen countless acts of heroism since the franchise's inception back in 2008.

But not all of them are what you'd necessarily describe as "selfless".

There have been lots of selfless acts of heroism as well, however - and they're the ones we're going to be focusing on in this video.

The fifteen examples we're going to be discussing here are; when Thor confronted the Destroyer armour whilst depowered in Thor (2011), when Captain America crashed Red Skull's plane into the ocean in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), when Tony Stark dumped the nuclear missile into Loki's portal in The Avengers (2012), when Groot protected his team-mates during a crash-landing in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), when the Guardians of the Galaxy collectively wielded the Power Stone to defeat Ronan in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), when Quicksilver ran into the path of bullets to save Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), when Ant-Man went subatomic to defeat Yellowjacket in Ant-Man (2015), when Doctor Strange died over and over again to submit Dormammu in Doctor Strange (2016), when Yondu sacrificed himself to save Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), when Spider-Man jumped on Adrian Toomes' plane in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), when Thor took the force of a star to create Stormbreaker in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), when Vision had Wanda Maximoff kill him in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), when Natasha Romanoff sacrificed herself in Avengers: Endgame (2019), when Bruce Banner used the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame (2019), and when Tony Stark used the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
