#CFAHomeschool Habit 1: Be Proactive Proactive kids focuses on what they can control not on what they can't. Don't be reactive. You can be in charge. You can choose the scripts by which to live your lives. Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind Start with a clear destination in mind. The most effective way is to create a personal mission statement that focuses on what you want to be, what you want to do and the values upon which both of these things are based. Habit 3: Put First Things First Prioritize on what’s important, on the things that bring you closer to your vision of the future and always put them first. Don’t constantly react on the urgency of unimportant tasks. Habit 4: Think Win/Win Life must be seen as a cooperative, not a competition. Effective people see the benefit in giving everyone a fair share of the pie and fostering positive long-term relationships. All agreements or solutions must be mutually beneficial. Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood Influence others by developing a deep understanding of their needs and perspectives before attempting to make yourself understood. Empathic listening can get us into the person speaking and feel things the way they feel. Habit 6: Synergize Synergy involves teamwork and creation of unity. By valuing the differences of one another, we can understand that in a group, the contributions of many will exceed those of any individual and will help achieve goals you could never reached on your own. Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw Devote the time to renewing ourselves physically, spiritually, mentally, and socially. Express and exercise all four of these motivations regularly and consistently. Strive for a sustainable lifestyle that is effective in the long-term. |
