Violin Sonata in G Minor (known popularly as the Devil’s Trill Sonata) by Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770). It is said that Tartini had a vision of the devil playing a section of this piece and scrambled to write it down. Though Tartini is quoted as saying that the piece is only a poor representation of what he actually heard, its virtuosity and creativity have inspired and challenged countless musicians throughout the centuries.
