In search of (the) real men | Krizia Nardini | TEDxBarcelonaWomen |
|
Krizia Nardini was speaker at TEDxBarcelonaWomen 2018 - #TheBraveUs on November 30th.
She shared her most important discovery throughout years studying men and feminist practice, that the search for (the) real men, is a social trap built upon a toxic understanding of masculinity. And that the only way to overcome it and build a world in which both men and women are finally equals, is to look for people who are -simply- real. Krizia is a researcher and educator on social change, gender relations, masculinities and activism in the information society. Trained in philosophy (University of Siena) and gender studies (MPhil, Utrecht University), she believes in the transformational power of feminist practice. Her PhD about men’s involvement in gender justice activism in Spain and Italy, showed her why and how men decide to participate in this global movement. As an advocate for gender equality and inclusion, she has collaborated with MenEngage Europe, and in 2018, she joined the board of directors of the American Men’s Studies Association. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx |
