Jordan Peterson starts on the idea of creating your own beliefs, and when Nietzsche announced the death of God, and delves further in with thoughts from Froyd and Jung and other psychoanalysts.

Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche was a German philosopher, cultural critic, composer, poet, philologist, and Latin and Greek scholar whose work has exerted a profound influence on Western philosophy and modern intellectual history.

When discussing what he would discuss with Nietzsche, he comes to the conclusion, which is: you can't create your own beliefs. That and there are multiple personalities within you that you need to learn how to integrate.

When Nietzsche announced the death of God, it wasn't announcement of triumph, it was an announcement of sorrow. He was also a strange friend of the truth, and Christianity. He also understood how important the substructure of the Judeo-christian tradition was to western civilization. He also wrote some things about Christ which we very positive. But when he announced the death of God he was trying to figure out what we could do to heal ourselves.

The psychoanalysts Jung and Froyd also discussed this.
