NBA 2019 Playoffs First Round Game 3 Milwaukee Bucks vs Detroit Pistons (Apr 20, 2019)

Giannis had his struggle in Game 3, he just doesn’t look like himself. With the blowout margin the Bucks had, Giannis recorded a weird -7 in the stat sheet. He picked up a few fouls early and inevitably sat on the bench for awhile. He did, however, show some flashes when he’s on the court; using his magical length to get past defenders like no one could.

Blake Griffin is back miraclely (previously listed as out of first round). His physicality brought to the table did create some problems for Giannis. Giannis was used to bullying his way through Thon in the last 2 games, not until they put Blake on him and constantly double-teamed him down the post.

We all know the sole focus would be on Giannis whenever anyone plays the Bucks, and that’s how the national recognition goes as well. With the struggle Giannis had in this game, and even though he still managed to record a double-double, people would magnify this game and discount his MVP possibility. Meanwhile as I am working through this comment section thing, the other bearded candidate is shooting like 0 for 100 against the Jazz. Netrualizing the Game 3 performances of both, Giannis would still be the clear-cut MVP.
