Does gold just look good on Blake Lively, or is it an intentional choice for Serena Van Der Woodsen? It's likely a bit of both. Gold DOES complement Blake, but the decision to make gold Serena's most common colour is also strategic. Especially contrasted to Blair Waldorf's intense/preppy navy's and red's, gold is a more ethereal and visually wealthy colour. Perfect for "it girl" status in upper eastside New York. Gossip Girl was a 2000' s icon for fashion, and I still think the outfits stand the test of time :)
