This tutorial will show you how to draw a duck (duckling) using simple shapes and then how to paint it using watercolor. All you need are basic watercolor supplies. If you don't have the ones I mention, use whatever you have available. This is a beginning tutorial. I will go over glazing with watercolors, using puddles to paint in large areas, and creating texture by feathering your paintbrush. This was a requested tutorial, enjoy!

Supplies
watercolor paint (8 color set)
watercolor paper
watercolor paintbrush (Round size 10, an 8 would work well too)
pencil and erasure
water in a container
scratch piece of paper
paper towel

Extension Projects
Create a more illustrative duckling by adding accessories to it (a hat, jacket, tie, socks, etc)
Paint a series of baby animals
Draw and paint the Easter Bunny
Go to a farm and sketch some of the baby animals
Read the story, The Ugly Duckling, by Hans Christian Andersen
Compare and contrast Disney's, The Ugly Duckling, Disney from 1931 and 1939
