And lo and behold it's finally here! This project is very special to me as it is the first time I've ever produced a video of this magnitude. It wasn't filmed in my basement or bedroom, it isn't primarily green-screened and I was able to call in professional videographers and editors for help. I wanna thank Alfredo Reed, my musician, for producing such a slick rendition of Almost There to accompany my voice. I wanna thank my Mother, who is playing Eudora, and took time out of her own busy schedule to film this, twice! I wanna thank Louise, the director of photography, and Emeline, the editor who was able to turn my creative ramblings into something beautiful. If you're ever in NYC and you need video work done, I can't recommend them enough! I wanna thank my Bronx village, some of whom don't have an online presence so I'm not sure if they want their names here but this is to all my aunties, godmothers y tios! You know who you are. Last but absolutely not least, I wanna thank my patrons who started this by voting for Tiana in the first place. In retrospect, it was the perfect start of this new tradition because, let's face it, creating a cafe/restaurant is easier than an Ice Palace or sailing to a Polynesian island. You guys saw the vision before I did and it really impressed on me how much you understand my taste. These types of videos are now the flagship series of my patreon so if you'd like to be part of this year's cosplay music video, pledge as little as $1 on my patreon. They got to see every step of this process and saw the video about 5 days early. We've already started the voting process so get in quickly! https://www.patreon.com/SierraNelson "Almost There" is a song written by Randy Newman for Walt Disney Pictures' 49th animated feature film The Princess and the Frog (2009). It was originally recorded by actress and singer Anika Noni Rose in her film role as Tiana.[1] The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 82nd Academy Awards but lost to "The Weary Kind" from Crazy Heart.[2] "Down in New Orleans", another song from the film, performed by Dr. John (with prologue & finale versions by Rose), was also nominated for the Oscar.
