Amplify Online: Entrepreneurs Discuss The Startup Journey - Why, When, and What's Next |
![]() |
Tufts alumni entrepreneurs discuss the current state of the start-up journey. The one-hour event is produced by Tufts AMPLIFY, a volunteer committee run by Tufts San Francisco Bay Area alumni focused on bringing entrepreneurs within the Tufts community together.
We have a terrific discussion in store for you featuring two outstanding entrepreneurs from the Tufts community: Kowsik Guruswamy (A23P) is a repeat entrepreneur and CTO of Menlo Security. He also founded Mu Dynamics, acquired by Spirent. Kowsik is passionate about what drives entrepreneurs, and will discuss what he sees as the biggest challenges and opportunities that lay ahead for startup founders. Ron Croen (A76) is a repeat entrepreneur and is now a Partner at You and Mr. Jones Brandtech Partners, which specializes in seed and early stage venture investments in the areas of voice technology, artificial intelligence, and “virtual humans.” Previously, Ron was the founder of Nuance, the leading company in the speech recognition and voice processing space, taking the company from three employees to an IPO and a market cap of $5 billion. Event Hosts: Josh Goldman (A88), General Partner at Catapult VC and former General Partner at Norwest Venture Partners. Josh is a repeat entrepreneur, prolific angel investor, and venture capitalist. He built early e-commerce aggregator MySimon into the largest comparison shopping service in the world, ultimately selling it for $730 million in early 2000. Judy Goldman (A88) is a former management consultant and semiconductor-industry community affairs specialist, who now serves as the Advisory Board Chair of the San Francisco Bay Area region of Facing History and Ourselves, an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to use the lessons of history to challenge teachers and students to stand up to bigotry and hatred. |
