Tropical Depression Two officially formed on the first day of hurricane season.

The tropical depression is expected to become Tropical Storm Arlene before moving into an unfavorable environment by the weekend.

Dry air and wind shear will help to weaken the storm significantly as it drifts towards Cuba. Moisture from the storm will continue to stream across the Florida Peninsula aiding in thunderstorm development.

Heavy rain will be possible in South Florida early next week from the system, but significant development as it moves through the Florida Straights is not expected.
