Cormier vs Jones 2: In the main event, longtime rivals Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones will fight in a rematch for the UFC light heavyweight championship. This time, though, Cormier is the champion and Jones is the challenger, a switch up from their first fight. In the co-main event, Tyron Woodley looks to defend his UFC welterweight championship another time when he meets top contender Demian Maia. That fight will be supported by a vacant UFC women’s featherweight championship bout between Cris “Cyborg” Justino and Tonya Evinger. Also on the card are fighters such as Jimi Manuwa, Robbie Lawler and Renan Barao, among others. With that, let’s take a look at this stacked card and make some predictions for what should be a wild night of fights. UFC 214 Live Stream Info: Date: Saturday, July 29 Location: Anaheim, California. There are so many question marks with Jones due to his inactivity caused by interferences in his personal life. He last fought in April of last year, winning a lackluster performance over Ovince Saint Preux. Since then, he’s been inactive. Cormier, on the other hand, has become the best light heavyweight in the world. His resume speaks for itself, whether it’s from his amateur wrestling career or his reign as UFC champion. In a normal circumstance, I would go with Jones; however, this is not normal circumstance for Jones. I’d love to go with him here, but his time off is concerning. Cormier takes the win, unless classic Jon Jones shows up. |
