💃 Raise your energy levels naturally with this short 9 minute tutorial on how to do Breath of Fire🔥
🔥Also referred to as Kapalabati or Shining Skull Breath, this is a wonderful pranayama technique aimed to increase the oxygen level in our blood and thus has an energising and warming effect on our system. Widely used in many yoga traditions, especially Kundalini yoga, Kapalabati breath helps us tone and strengthen the abdominals and stimulates the navel and the solar plexus, which is the energetic seat of the third chakra Manipiura 💛 ⏬To perform this pranayama, we focus on active exhalation while drawing the navel towards the spine, and we let the inhale happen passively. Let the belly dance, snapping the navel in sharply every time you exhale. The important point is to find your own rhythm with it, start slow and then increase speed as you get more comfortable. If at any point you need to take a normal breath in and take a break, then please do so and rejoin when you are ready. 🔆There are options to keep the arms raised while performing the Breath of fire but for the purpose of this tutorial which is aimed at beginners, we will focus on the main aspects of this breathing technique to get really comfortable with it so you can enjoy it and practice it with ease. ‼️ Please note this pranayama is not recommended, i.e. contra-indicated during pregnancy and for heart conditions. Also, if you suffer from hot flushes, Breath of Fire will not be suitable as it will increase the heat in the body.
