Saif & Amrita’s Marriage Affected Kids Badly. In a recent interview with a leading daily, Saif expressed his grief about his divorce with Amrita Singh. He also said that their divorce affected their kids, Sara and Ibrahim, badly as they were very young then. Saif Ali Khan and Amrita fell in love with each other while shooting for a film together. They had an age gap of 12 years but married each other in the year 1991 even though Saif’s family was not happy with his marriage. Later after 13 years of their conjugal life, this couple separated their ways. Their separation was their mutual decision and both of them took the responsibility of their kids. Sara was just 9 years old and Ibrahim was just 3 years old when Saif and Amrita separated their ways. Being a kid, Saif and Amrita’s separation greatly affected the kids specially Sara. Saif has always maintained his silence on the matter of his divorce but recently he spoke his heart out on this matter. Saif said that he still regrets the decision of divorce and he still wishes that it would be good if the decision could get avoided. He also added that he will never be okay with his decision of divorcing Amrita Singh. Saif added that he thinks no child should be deprived of a warm home and a healthy family. Sara was badly affected by their decision of separation and was really hurt by their decision. Later after growing up she understood their situation and accepted their separation. Saif said that kids growing up in healthy families of their separated parents are way better than growing up in an unhealthy family. The actor said that every parent should offer a wonderful environment and a stable home to their kids. He said that two parents together might not be a wonderful thing always. According to him a warm home is must for kids, be it by staying together or by divorcing each other. It is great to have two healthy families of divorced parents rather than one unhealthy family where parents stay together. Saif is now happily married to Kareena and his kids Sara and Ibrahim are also friends with their step mother, Bebo.
