اتيت وقد توزعت الهدايا
I came and the gifts were all ready distributed



وحملت الرحال على المطايا
And the loads were already loaded on the mounts



عبيدك يا اله الناس غاو
Your humble servant oh God of Mankind is mislead


وليس سواك يمنحني هداي
And there is non other than you who will guide me


عبيدك من شتات في شتات
Your humble servant is in a state of dispersals


أتاك وأنت أخبر بالنوايا
He has come to you and you are more aware of the intentions


جهول ظالم وعليه برد
Ignorant and oppressive with a cloak of


من التسويف أورده البلايا
Procrastination which has landed him in turmoil/tribulations


وما عتبات بابك غير جود
Your doorsteps are not miserly



فها هو واقف يرجوا العطايا
So here he is standing hoping for gifts


وها هو خد شقوته ذليل
Here he is humiliated and misfortunate


تعفر ساجدا بين الحنايا
Rubbing his face ,prostrating in front of ……


أنا والذنب والتسويل جئنا
Me, my sins and enticement have all come


وبين يديك اطرقنا خزايا
And in front of you we have fallen down humiliated


جواي هشيم افراح وتحيا
Inside of me are fragments of happiness and upon it lives


على أنقاضها كتل الرزايا
The clusters of calamities



إلهي لا تكل نفسي لنفسي
Oh my lord do not deposit my soul to myself


إذن والله تخذلني السجايا
Then by Allah the darkness of the night will disgrace me


وصغ لي عبرة بهوان غيري
Formulate for me a lesson for the humiliation of others



لأبصر كل ما حولي مرايا
So that I see all around me as a mirror


إلهي جيش أحزاني غزاني
Oh my lord the army of my grief’s has battled against me



ومن همي تباغتني سرايا
And the battalion of my worries have ambushed me


وجئتك يا حبيب الصدق تعدو
I have come to you oh true friend



خطاي لتستجير من الخطايا
With my sins running, so that you may protect from sin.
