How to Draw and Paint FIRST SNOWFALL - Paint and Sip at Home - Fun Beginner Acrylic Painting Lesson

video thumbnail
PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – Looking for an easy winter painting idea? Want to do a fun seasonal DIY project? Let me be your acrylic art instructor as I teach you easy step-by-step instructions throughout this fun beginner art video as you learn how to paint a child catching snow—a nostalgic and emotional painting “FIRST SNOWFALL” with acrylic paint. I live in New England where the four seasons change drastically every three months like clockwork, the beginning of each season earmarked by some sort of event. Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) are the first flowers that bloom in my area and usually start to poke their head out of the ground in Mid to late February marking the beginning of Spring. The summer solstice, or the longest day of the year, on June 21st, marks the beginning of summertime when it’s hot and there is still daylight at 9:00 p.m. Autumn starts when the leaves change color and fall to the ground which usually starts around mid-September. And, although Winter officially begins on Winter solstice on Dec 21st, which is the shortest day of the year, I think everyone in New England will agree that winter really starts whenever the snow starts to fall. I always find that first day of snow fall is both beautiful and magical, and then I realize we're in for a long, cold, dark winter. Perhaps I would enjoy the entire season more if I picked up a winter hobby such as snowshoeing, ice fishing, or skiing. But looking on the bright side of things, my reluctance to partake in snowy activities just gives me more of an excuse to stay inside where it’s toasty warm and paint. But for all those who love the Winter season, join me and paint this blissful ode to wonderful winter. In the first step you’ll learn how to paint a background using wintery colors in order to capture the magic of the oncoming winter season. Then, after learning how to paint an out of focus forest and two large oak tree trucks and branches in the foreground, you’ll learn how to paint leaves using a dotting or stippling technique. Then, after learning how to draw a person using a dot-to-dot simple drawing method, you’ll use color theory to mix a custom sweater and skin tone to use as a simple base coat to work off of. You’ll learn how to paint clothing by layering colors to give knitted texture and form to her body with highlights and shadows for added depth and dimension creating a realistic 3-D appearance like a photograph. You'll then learn how to paint hair with a chestnut color and wavy movement. Then you’ll learn how to paint snow falling from the sky, landing in her hand and resting on the ground, trees and her head for a complete atmospheric illusion. The art lesson is so easy to follow, you’ll feel like it’s a paint by numbers. Have fun and create the perfect canvas wall art to spark the imagination. Using only 3 brushes and 7 colors, you’ll paint like a professional and create the best canvas painting in the world! Have a date night, paint party, paint and sip event, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, or water colour, any medium will work! Paint just for fun or for art therapy. It's an easy art project for anyone. I hope you enjoy watching this Youtube art video and let's get painting and let's get sipping!
