Bayern's infamous 8-2 drubbing of Barcelona in the 2020 Champions League quarter-final - after which the German side went on to lift Europe's biggest club prize - remains fresh in the memory, but the teams have not met in the group stages since the 1998-99 campaign, where the Bavarian giants claimed a pair of 1-0 and 2-1 victories.

Barcelona's attacking threat has taken a hit following the departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, while Sergio Aguero, Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati remain injured or doubts, so Dutch duo Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong could lead Ronald Koeman's frontline.
