The daughter of Māori King Tūheitia has met with Prince Charles in London. The visit comes almost 140 years after her ancestor, King Tāwhiao, traveled to England to meet Queen Victoria to urge her to honour Te Tīriti o Waitangi. Despite traveling such a vast distance, the Queen refused to meet with him.

This is part of our reo Māori series, Ohinga, created by Mahi Tahi Media, with funding from Te Māngai Pāho and the NZ On Air Public Interest Journalism Fund.
