OPEN PAPER BOX | English

video thumbnail
Today we will make a PAPER BOX. This box has two special features. First, it can be made using any rectangular piece of paper. The second is that it needs no glue. You can use an old A-4 sheet, calendar or a newspaper. The only condition is that the paper should be rectangular.
We take a double newspaper with 2 layers to make a strong box. Fold the midline along the length. Then fold the open layers on both sides in half. Now fold a triangle from the fold line on the left side then fold the paper along the edge of the triangle as shown. Crease the fold well. Repeat on the right side exactly the same that you did on the left side. Crease the fold well. Fold two triangles from the open end but only their TOP layer. Lay this flap on top as shown.
Now we need to RECREASE the two DIAGONAL CREASES. For this raise both layers of the paper and make one Diagonal crease sharp only until this point. Repeat the same with the other Diagonal Crease. To complete the box lift one end of the box as shown. Make a flap from the diagonal crease and tuck it inside the pocket of the half box. Finally take the second diagonal flap and tuck it inside the pocket of the half box. This will complete the box. This box requires no GLUE and can be used as a pen stand and to place other tall objects.
