Using Modern Technology to Legitimize Elections | Lori Steele Contorer | TEDxSanDiego |
|
Modern technology is all around us, from deciphering the human , to cars that drive themselves, and spacecraft that we can land on Mars, but when it comes to how we operate elections, the use of technology is still limited, and that fact has, in many cases, compromised the legitimacy of the election process. Paper ballots can no longer be relied upon to determine elected leaders - it’s time we apply the best technology possible to ensure elections are legitimate.
As the founder and CEO of Everyone Counts, Lori Steele Contorer is the world’s top expert in election modernization, pioneering the adoption of software as a service and bringing proven state of the art technologies, already proven in other mission–critical industries, to make elections more accessible, affordable, transparent and secure. Lori has led successful election administration and voting projects in countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Australia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
