Ski your way to your Goals @ HQ! ⠀
⠀ Most cardiovascular equipment is lower-body based. Think about it, running, cycling, rowing when done properly is all lower body. ⠀ ⠀ These days in any facility it is hard to find a good cardio machine that primarily engages upper-body musculature until now.⠀ ⠀ This is why I had to have the Ski Trainer at HQ. ⠀ ⠀ It mimics the motion of cross-country skiing. I have a new found respect for skiers! ⠀ ⠀ It essentially is a total Body multi joint exercise. ⠀ ⠀ Not only will you increase your heart rate quickly, but because it engages more muscles than traditional forms of cardio, you will burn more calories which equates to fat/weight loss. ⠀ ⠀ When performed correctly, you’ll hit near enough every major muscle group. ⠀ ⠀ 1 thing I’ve noted that clients have said after performing the Ski Trainer is the burn in their triceps/lats and they can really feel it in their abs! ⠀ ⠀ How it works is the Ski Trainer uses a flywheel that traps air to increase resistance. ⠀ ⠀ The intensity varies with your effort: the harder you pull, the greater the intensity. ⠀ ⠀ Believe me it’s tough....⠀ ⠀ This was the session I did this morning ⠀ ⠀ X 30 Minute AMRAP ⠀ ⠀ 10 Renegade Rows⠀ 10 Incline DB Bench ⠀ 20 Calorie Ski Trainer ⠀ ⠀ The Ski Trainer is an exceptional piece of kit ⠀ ⠀ How to perform the Ski Trainer ⠀ ⠀ To begin my hands and feet should be approx shoulder width or slightly wider and arms slightly above my head and slightly bent! ⠀ ⠀ I’m driving the handles down by engaging my core and slightly bending at my knees. ⠀ ⠀ I’m also maintaining the bend in my arms and keeping my arms close to my body.⠀ ⠀ To finish I’m driving downwards with my knees slightly bent and arms extended past my thighs. ⠀ ⠀ I’m then extending my arms upwards and I’m straightening my body to return to the start position. ⠀ ⠀ All whilst bracing my core! ⠀ ⠀ Hope you all find this guide on the Ski Trainer useful....⠀ ⠀ ⠀ |
