The fact that God has chosen those who believe in Jesus is unmistakable. But why is that? Is there something unique about you that drew God's attention? The simple answer is no, God did not choose you based on your innate characteristics. He chose you out of compassion and grace, as well as for the sake of His glory. God's preference is for something that brings Him joy and glory. God's choice to choose you emphasizes His generous character rather than your merit. You are saved purely due to God's mercy, not because of your good actions. God chose you not because of who you are, but because of who He is. All glory to God, who assures us that we are not a fluke of nature. We are unique creations of God. His sons and daughters we all are. He fashioned you and me in his image. We are a one-of-a-kind creation. He selected us before the beginning of time, purchased us out of our servitude to sin with His own blood, and adopted us into His family forever.
