SPH Media Trust has filed a police report following a review on inflated circulation data of its media titles, including its flagship, The Straits Times. It found that the numbers were inflated by more than 82,000 daily copies in August 2021, about 10 per cent of its average circulation. It also understated S$110,000 in profits and recorded an extra S$1.2 million in revenues and expenses. SPH Media said the discrepancies had no impact on its profit and loss, and its editorial staff were not involved.
