Narvik is a city with extensive World War II history and also a land of many arctic natural wonders. In this journey to Narvik we learned about the Battle for Narvik's history, walk through some of the battlefields and rendered our respect to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. Narvik has access to numerous outdoor activities. This is the best known location in northern Norway for alpine skiing. Narvik is the third-largest municipality in Nordland county, Norway, by population and is located on the shores of the Ofotfjorden. The municipality is part of the traditional district of Ofoten of Northern Norway, inside the Arctic Circle.
