Paramahansa Yogananda was an Indian yogi and guru who brought the teachings of yoga and meditation to the West. He was born in 1893 in India and was trained in the ancient tradition of Kriya Yoga. In 1920, he travelled to the United States to share the teachings of yoga with Westerners.
