Residents in North Queensland are preparing for localised flooding as a severe weather warning has been issued from Herbert to Whitsundays as up to 300mm of rain is expected to fall across parts of the state. Meanwhile, Acting Assistant Commissioner Chris Stream says as the weather system pushes south, concern grows primarily for the areas of Proserpine, Mackay, and Bowen South, urging residents not to ignore road closure as the state braces for a further onslaught of torrential rain.
