The Taycan first arrived back in the fall of 2019 as a premium four-door electric-only offering from Porsche. By early November 2022, the luxury brand had already sold its 100,000th Taycan, but the competition in the segment has been on the rise. With rivals from Lucid and Tesla achieving better range, it was time for the Stuttgart-based automaker to improve its well-liked EV.

Reports are indicative of an ultra-high-performance tri-motor variant of the Taycan undergoing testing, with perhaps over 1,000 horsepower on tap! We suspect the facelift to also score better in terms of range, with an EPA-estimated 275 miles expected across variants on a single charge. The 2024 Taycan could reach U.S. dealers in late 2023, sporting a base price of just under USD 90,000.
