DPS Rudrapur added another feather in its cap, when it recently organised DPS Cricket Tournament in the fond memory of an established gem in this sport, Lt Beerpal Singh Grover.
Around 12 teams from Uttarakhand and 6 teams from Uttar Pradesh are participating in this event not only to honour the memory of this exceptional sportstar but also to instill love for this sport among the youth. Cricket Academy, Bareilly 17. Ananya Cricket Club, Mathura 18. Khalifa Cricket Academy, Bareilly This event started on 15 September 2021 and will continue its ambitious stride till 4 October 2021. The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Deepak Mehra (Treasurer, Cricket Association, UK) in the presence of esteemed dignitaries like Shri Noor Alam (Secretary, US Nagar Cricket Association) and Shri Rajendra Grover. The first match of this tournament was played between Cricketer's Club Haldwani and S.R.M.S. Bareilly with the latter clinching the win. The first match itself was so gripping and provided such a thrill that everyone was left craving for more. Thankfully, these enthralling matches are still going on and those who have missed the show till now, can actually still be a part of it. Chairman of DPS-Rudrapur, Shri Surjit Singh Grover ji has made such invaluable contributions to this part of the region that we are forced to redefine the word 'norm' in the presence of his towering contributions. He graciously wished all to have an immensely successful sports season and reiterated his pledge to always deliver what he promises. |
