Bringing the World Peace Game to Norway | Jens Nordgreen-Svensen | TEDxTrondheim

video thumbnail
Climate change, war, political turmoil and corruption -- A young boy from Bergen have solved all these global challenges and more, twice, in the World Peace Game.

Jens Nordgreen-Svensen is a fifteen year old student at Rothaugen middle school in Bergen, Norway. He has attended schools in Tanzania, Kenya and the United States, exposing him to a variety of teaching styles and tools. This has made him become actively involved in several projects on bringing technology and new teaching methods into the classroom.

Jens’ teacher at Rothaugen, Terje Pedersen, shares Jens’ passion and curiosity for new ways students can interact with new technology and tools to learn. In their classroom they have used mobile games such as “Monument Valley” in math and English class, and they have even been using drones to teach mathematics, social science and ethics. Last year, Jens (and Terje) represented Rothaugen middle school at the British Educational Training and Technology Show in London, where they presented their experiences with using new technology in the classroom.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
