Tom and Betty met when Tom was entertaining at a restaurant in Dennis, MA. Betty and Alan were in a show at the Dennis Playhouse and became patrons of the restaurant. Tom was a student at Harvard and Alan Luden saw something in him and introduced him to Mike Douglas. For almost 50 years, they have been dear friends. Tom was born blind but it never stopped him from being a Harvard student, a regular on Good Morning America where he showed the world his love for life. He is a skier, hang glider, sky diver and amazing musician and singer. His Golden Retriever guide dog Dinah was the smartest and most beautiful animal. Tom and Betty wrote a wonderful book about Dinah called, "The Leading Lady, Dinah's story". In 2009, Betty and Tom collaborated again on "Together, a story of shared vision"
