Ellie Goulding - Tides (Lyrics Video) |
|
After a five year break between albums, Ellie Goulding makes a shining return to music with the new album Brightest Blue. Sporting fantastic hit songs like Hate Me with Juice WRLD, Worry About Me with blackbear, Slow Grenade with Lauv, Power, Close To Me with Diplo and Swae Lee (a version without the rap portion exists), Sixteen (this was not originally on the album but thankfully was added last-minute to the extended Apple Music Deluxe edition), and of course Tides, this double-sided album sends her straight back into the pop scene after the release of Delirium in 2015. With an impressive career of multiple hit songs spanning multiple years, Ellie Goulding has become a namesake in the pop world with such songs to her name: Lights, Outside with Calvin Harris (should look familiar) along with I Need Your Love, Burn, First Time with Kygo, Mama with Clean Bandit (also familiar), Love Me Like You Do, Something In The Way You Move (a personal favorite), Don't Need Nobody, Keep On Dancin', Devotion (I have my suspicions about this song being the unreleased third Calvin Harris collaboration but I wouldn't know), On My Mind, Anything Could Happen (the shorter radio version is better), and the unfortunately unreleased version of the collaboration with Jamie Scott, David Guetta, and Martin Garrix, along with other songs like Starry-Eyed and more. I have been a fans of hers and her songs have been a part of my life now for over a decade, a fact I honestly don't believe. I chose to do the lyrics video for Tides because I wanted to do at least one in honor of Brightest Blue and her return, and the title reminded me of a favorite summer song of mine, Waves with Mr. Probz and Robin Schulz from 2013. This song still keeps in line with my repertoire of doing lyrics videos to upbeat dance tracks, but this one is more stripped-back and longer than my previous ones. With unique vocals and a distinct beat, she sings about pushing through the tides, the tough times, and sticking it out with her significant other. This version was dimmed in post-production, and you can see the original color scheme in the last frame of the lyrics video and how it was brighter in the original version. I finished this immediately as it came out the day before the album dropped, but I started working on it back in May because Apple Music made me think it was being released around the same date as Chromatica by Lady Gaga, but I'm glad that the lyrics video is now released. Thank you all for clicking and watching, and make sure to like, comment, subscribe, share, and enjoy your summer!!!!
