No explanation needed… one of the greatest radio hits, sung at football games all over the world. It’s a spring/summer song of love, dedicated to lovers everywhere. In these troubled times, we long for “good times.”

By 1982, club-owners in Canada stopped hiring, and played canned music. I wanted to keep working, and looked for ideas for a small format. When I attended a Karaoke bar (new in '82), I had an epiphany: to record {with the help of Colman Jones} an entire band, and perform live vocals and guitars. I carried a road-case with a hundred cassettes, all cued every day. I had a truck, a big PA, a light-show. Wigs, costumes, choreography. The result was a successful act called “Solitary Man,” show-medleys of Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Elvis, and other impressions. The act toured North America, and I played smaller rooms at The Sands and the MGM Grand. I was dubbed “The Karaoke King” or “Canada’s Tom Jones.”

This rendition is a loving tribute to the man whose music paid my rent. Yet, in the style of this YT channel, I perform here as a hybrid (half-Mac & half-Neil). I hope you enjoy it.

Though I'll do some collabs this year (with Leeroy & other pals), old RE-VO is going to take a break for a time, partly for health reasons. Making quality vids is hard work, as you know, and sometimes, we need to give the pipes a rest. I appreciate your understanding, folks. Sending you all love and prayers.
