This reel of silent footage was distributed by the U.S. Navy to the media for use as stock footage in the 1970s, most likely in the immediate post-Vietnam War era.

Opening: U.S. Navy sailors and the Recruit Training Command or RTC band on the march, San Diego, CA (:07). Marines climbing down the side of an LST hull by rope ladder (1:29). Soldiers talk to one another before exiting an amphibious craft as part of an amphibious landing drill (2:03). Soldiers supported by tanks are shown in Southeast Asia (2:36). Navy PBR boats drive quickly across the water (3:11). USS Esteem (AM-438/MSO-438), an Aggressive-class minesweeper (3:46). Aerial shot over USS Chittenden County (LST-561) (4:19). Helicopter lifts off from USS Jouett (DLG/CG 29)(4:46). USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship (5:25). Chinook helicopter hovers over a U.S. Navy ship (6:30). USS Albany (CA-123 / CG-10), a United States Navy Oregon City-class heavy cruiser, followed by USS Long Beach (CLGN-160/CGN-160/CGN-9), a nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser (6:04) and at (7:10) USS Boston (CA-69/CAG-1), a Baltimore-class guided missile cruiser followed at (7:49) by USS Saint Paul (CA-73), a Baltimore-class cruiser. At (8:20) is USS Bainbridge (DLGN-25/CGN-25), a nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser; at (8:37) a fire suppression system is activated. At (9:13) is a U.S. Navy battleship, the USS Alabama, shown in WWII era camouflage paint. (9:07). Guns of the Alabama fire at night (9:42). Gun turret moves and barrel raises towards the American flag that flows behind it (9:57). Destroyer USS Putnam (DD-757), charges through rough waters (10:06). High seas hitting USS Turner (DD/DDR-834), a Gearing-class destroyer, and USS Charles R. Ware (DD-865) (11:08). U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carrier; plane lands on the carrier in the distance (11:45). USS Coral Sea (CV/CVB/CVA-43), a Midway-class aircraft carrier (12:11). What appears to be numerous A-7 Corsair planes take off from a Navy Carrier (12:37). Navy deck crew at work (13:29). A-6 Intruder takes off from a Navy deck (14:05). A-4 Skyhawk takes off (14:24). A-6 Intruder in the air (14:48). A-6 Intruder receives fuel while in flight (15:26). Navy carrier USS Wasp (CV/CVA/CVS-18) at sea on a Project Gemini capsule recovery mission (21:20). Helicopter recovery team in action, divers jump into the water (21:27). Red helicopter hovers at sea (22:07). U.S. Navy nuclear submarine USS Nautilus (SSN-571) at sea (22:28) followed by USS Skipjack (SSN-585) (22:51) followed by Polaris nuclear missile submarine USS Thomas Jefferson (SSBN-618). Polaris missile breaks the surface and engine fires (23:28). Main guns are fired on a cruiser or destroyer (23:53). Navy crewmen at work in a combat information center (CIC), and crewmen are shown loading shells into a naval gun on a battleship (25:02). Resupply at sea. Helicopter delivers cargo to a ship (26:04). Crewman waves helicopter to land (26:18). Aerial battleship shot (26:39). Women blow kisses to men aboard USS Enterprise, wave goodbye (26:48). African American women dance (27:13) and two women who might be Playboy hostesses wave goodbye (27:23). People hold welcome home signs for servicemen and wait for their return; Navy men leave their ship at the end of deployment and greet loved ones on the pier (27:25).
