Homeschooling Options in Delaware in 2021
Option 1: Homeschooling as a single-family homeschool
A single-family homeschool means the child is educated primarily by his or her parent(s) or legal guardian(s), mostly in their own home.
1. Report enrollment by submitting a statement of enrollment as the last school day in September, at the beginning of every school year, on or before October 5 to the DOE.
2. Report attendance at the end of every school year, on or before July 31, using a form from the Department of Education and then submitted to the DOE.
Option 2: MULTI-FAMILY HOMESCHOOLS means the education of children, primarily by the parents(s) or legal guardian(s) of such children mainly in one or several residences, or other facilities, when such children are not all related to each other as brother or sister. A person shall act as a liaison to the Department of Education for reporting enrollment and attendance information for all families involved.
Option 3: PRIVATE SCHOOLS means a school having any or all of grades kindergarten through twelve, operating under a board of trustees and maintaining a faculty and plant which are properly supervised.
It is recommended by most websites that deal with home instruction that you keep a portfolio of the daily lessons that were taught to your students that include the date, the subject, whether taught online, book, workbook, or orally, (the name of the book or website) along with what they were doing as far as the activity - for example -

You may also choose to keep a folder of your field trips including leaflets, photos of your child on the field trip, or written work of your child about the field trip even if it is about what they learned or what they enjoyed the most about it.
You may keep a page with a list of websites, books, workbooks, games, magazine subscriptions, and other materials you will or have been utilizing for homeschooling.
You can print out the curriculum for the website or books index or contents page to add to your portfolio as well.
Written work from the student from at least of few pages each month of each subject should be included in the Portfolio.
