The allure of harmful leadership: Jim Mohr at TEDxCCS

video thumbnail
Jim Mohr, PhD, is a recent transplant to Olympic College as its Dean of Student Development. Jim hails from the former Instituter for Extended Learning, now part of SCC, where he was instrumental in implementing the Behavior Intervention Team process, Sage Campus Advocates, Green Dot nonviolence training, and numerous clothing, food and school drives for students and neighbors in need. A champion for equity and diversity while at CCS, Jim worked on Unity in the Community, Lead initiatives at the GU Institute of Hate Studies and provided workshops on bias, gender and sexual equality, privilege and other human rights topics. He founded the CCS Intercultural Leadership Program (ICLP), which he left in the capable hands of TEDx speaker Lori Hunt and Barry Moses.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
