Elon Musk spoke at the 2020 Mars Society Virtual Convention from the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA. His comments included questions relayed from the Mars Society Membership by Dr. Robert Zubrin (Lakewood, CO), James L. Burk (Seattle, WA), and Carie Fay (Denver, CO). Following Elon's ~40 min time, Dr. Zubrin took additional questions. This special event took place on October 15th , 2020.

Our live stream of this special event was seen directly by over 7500 people via the Zoom call and Youtube live steam organized by the Mars Society's volunteer staff, and our live stream was also carried by CNET and other internet media outlets. We estimate that this video was seen by over 100,000 people in the first 24 hours. Elon's comments in response to our questions included specific milestones for the development of Starship, and these made front page news on Space.com and CNET.com, among other places.
