Joanna Macy, PhD, is a scholar of Buddhism, systems thinking, and deep ecology. A respected voice in movements for peace, justice, and environmentalism, she interweaves her scholarship with experience from seven decades of activism. She’s the author of 14 books, including Coming Back to Life, and the creator of a ground-breaking framework for personal and social change called The Work That Reconnects.

Jessica Serrante is a coach for climate leaders and facilitator of The Work That Reconnects. She has been a climate activist since 2007 and has served on staff at organizations like Greenpeace and Rainforest Action Network. She holds a Masters Degree from Parsons School of Design, where she studied urban climate resilience and she is a professionally certified coach with over 1,500 hours of experience.
