|
Breaking NBA News: The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, pick swaps in 2021 and 2025. Adrian Wojnarowski reported Westbrook and his agent worked together with Thunder general manager Sam Presti to get him to the Rockets. Westbrook is owed $171 million over the next four seasons and will make $47 million alone in 2022-23, assuming he opts in to the final year of his contract.
Russell Westbrook will rejoin James Harden after playing three seasons together in OKC. Kevin Durant, Westbrook, and Harden are now out of OKC and the Thunder never advanced further than the Western Conference Finals since the 2011-12 season. Will the Rockets be able to contend with the Lakers after Anthony Davis was traded to LA? Will Houston contend with the Clippers after signing Kawhi Leonard and trading for Paul George?
