Have you ever wondered about the life of the prisoners of Alcatraz back in the day? As you know, Alcatraz is in the San Francisco Bay, and used to keep the most famous inmates like Al Capone. We heard many stories of Alcatraz, but what really went on in there? In this video, we will uncover by hour, what it was like to be an inmate in Alcatraz. In most prisons there is a fairly strict procedure in place. This is to ensure that inmates are monitored closely to ensure order be maintained. Remember that these were some of the most dangerous criminals that existed in America. However, Alcatraz was known to have one of the strictest orders of the day, that prisons had ever seen.

In the morning, all prisoners would be woken by the sound of a whistle. They would be required to prepare their beds and put all the items (sheets, pillows, sheets, etc.) in a particular arrangement, clean their bathroom and wash the bowl, clean their bars, clean, and sweep the floor of their cell then fold their table seat, wash their hands and dress.

In the morning, at 6:45 the guards would begin getting ready to greet the prisoners and take them to Mess Hall. By 6:50 AM, all tasks that were assigned to prisoners must be completed. When the second whistle of the morning went off, the prisoners would be placed at their cells' doors, until another whistle rang. Within 5 minutes, guards would count the number of the prisoners in order to verify that they were all present.
