1. FACT: Lifestyle changes can reduce your risk of high blood pressure. Healthy lifestyle choices can allow many with a family history of it to avoid it themselves. 2. FACT: You cannot "feel" high blood pressure 99% of the time - it’s a silent problem. 3. FACT: High blood pressure goes up and down all day long. On average, the American Heart Association recommends a blood pressure less than 120/80. 4. FACT: If you are on medication for high blood pressure, you should continue taking it. Medication does not "cure" it. 5. FACT: You should monitor your blood pressure at home. It should be a collaboration between you and your doctor.
